Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows...

Ireland is finally getting its summer in late September! About time too haha. Beautiful day and I was cooped up in college all day, but it felt amazing to leave at 4 and Dublin was full of shiny, happy people. The sunshine brings out the best in us Irish :)

Had my first golden week since first year I believe and man it feels good. I don't really think I can ever not have a golden week this semester though seeing as I only have 3 days of lectures so I'm getting my game face on! It was a great day, actually it's been a great week. I have 4 stories to write for the Liberty and I'm sound engineer for the radio module this term; I'm uber excited about that! I'm really interested in radio but I hated presenting, it's so much pressure and I never handled it well. So when she asked for people to be sound engineer for DIT FM in December my hand shot up!

Learned a bit more about the Paul Verlaine Université in Metz today too, it looks like a huuuge campus and it's really close to the centre ville. Also it looks like there is good student accomodation too which is great. I'll do more research on it soon and post up pics. I think I'll definitely keep an Erasmus blog when I'm away and try and get a few followers, could make for an interesting read at least!

Anyway, I'm pooped so that's all for now folks! xxx

My biggest dream

I've heard enough times that if I want to be a writer, then I have to write. So here goes; I'm starting (yet another) blog that probably no-one will ever read but it doesn't matter, because I'm writing and that's a start.

I haven't decided what the theme of my blog will be and I imagine it will be a hodgepodge of ideas, dreams and things I've seen and want to share. Whatever this blog is, it will be the start of me working towards my dream. Like the title of this blog, I want to be a writer and goddammit I'm gonna be a writer. It's always been my dream and so far I've been chasing it all my life. I've been keeping little diaries and scraps of paper with my thoughts scribbled down for as long as I can remember. I achieved one of my biggest goals yet and I am studying Journalism and French in college. I'm currently in Third Year and loving my course. I know this is what I'm meant to do.

Well I tried to tell myself I shouldn't just ramble on about myself because with lack of readers and comments that's going to get very old very fast!

Ok, hmm, what to write about, well I'm bored at the minute and thinking I can't wait to go to bed but it's still a tad early. Looking forward to getting started on my four stories for the Liberty paper. The deadline is next week for three and a week after for my Dylan Moran review and I think I'll post them up here too.

Thinking about Erasmus and how scary and amazing it's going to be. It's not often you think that something will be both terrifying and wonderful but I'm full of optimism for my time in France next year. I think it could be one of the best experiences of my life and I can't wait to get started.

Anyway, that's enough for a first blog but I'll be back soon! :)
